This week we are meeting the performer of Itachi - Alex Zampetti. The production team is busy with the promotion&delivery strategy, while we've got some spare time to have a chat with another lead actor.
-Hello Alex, how do you are you feeling now, when it’s all over?
-It was an amazing experience. As an actor I love bringing characters to life that not only are intricate and complex but they are also characters of childhood stories. Naruto is an amazing tale of friendship, family and relationships that encompasses a vast field of genres.
-Did you find it difficult to understand the way to perform Itachi, as he is a very complicated character, with a bitter past and difficult family relationship?
Yes and no. Obviously I never had to kill anybody, more so a member of my family. But I know how it is to sacrifice yourself for your beliefs and to be hated by someone that you love. I love the Itachi as a character and I only hoped that I had more time to bring him to life.
-In the scene of the parents slaughtering, did you manage ‘’not to kill them’’ actually?
-I believe that in a way Itachi did not kill them. He managed to save some of their legacy, through Sasuke.
-Alex, how was it to work with you partner Ioan, did you find your chemistry?
-Apart from the fact me and Ioan kind of do look like brothers, I find that it was really easy to work with him. He is a very fun person and very focused when it comes to our work.
-What can you say about working with Ibraim, was he clear enough, while explaining you the right way of performing Itachi?
-Ibrahim has a very clear view about what he had in mind for the movie. He loves the story as well, so I could really see that what he was doing was something that he loved.
-It’s you first film acting experience, what can you tell about it?
-It’s actually not my first film acting experience. I did some scenes for the NYFA. But this one was surely the most complex. It was hard but the process of film making is really something I love.
-Speaking of ‘’Naruto’’, did you know the story before, or it was smth new you had to learn?
-I’ve been following the story of Kishimoto since I was 13 years old. I love the saga. It had so many shades, all the characters are different and complex. I’ve loved Naruto since the beginning.
-What were the difficulties you’ve faced on set?
-The waits between takes, I think, was maybe the most challenging thing, but I think it’s only a matter self discipline and concentration to keep yourself going.
-Itachi Uchiha, would you call him a hero, or he is just a fallen ninja, who has chosen the wrong way?
-Itachi is definitely a hero in his own category. He has literally given up his whole existence for a greater good that he truly beli
eved in. He is one of my favourite characters in Naruto. I was so enthusiastic that Ibrahim chose me for the role.
-Would you like to be a part of the project again; I’ve heard about the sequel?
-Yes, on so many levels.
